Bake for good
This is our third Christmas season teaming up with OXO to bake for Cookies for Kids' Cancer. For every cookie baked and shared, OXO will donate $1 up to $100,000 to help research and efforts to eradicate pediatric cancers. To learn more about Cookies for Kids' Cancer and to donate, click here.
We have never made spritz cookies together. We used the OXO Cookie Press and made this cream cheese variety. We even added a little bit of strawberry jam to some of the ones in the centers.
These cookies are perfectly crunchy, bite-sized, and not too sweet! You can decorate them or leave them as is. Serve them on a cookie tray or take them to a cookie exchange with friends or family.
You will need
- 1/2 stick butter, cold, cubed
- 3/4 oz brick cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1/4 egg yolk
- 1/4 t vanilla extract
- 2/3 c flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1/8 t ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cream together cubed butter and cream cheese in large mixing bowl. Add sugar and egg yolk, beating until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add flour, salt and cinnamon. Add this mixture back into the other bowl slowly and beat until well incorporated.
- Place dough in Cookie Press with the desired disk. Press dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown on the edges. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through baking time.
