Study
Coastal Office
The stage right upon entering our home is the “Study.” This space was designated as such on our builder’s blueprints, and we’re using that name since we both have unique office home on the main level of our home. David currently occupies the Study and longs for cabinets, shelves, and drawers to store things, as no closet is attached to this room.
We chose to continue the hard surface flooring in this room as it is in the foyer and nearby Dining Room. Carpet squares from FLOR in Tweed Indeed Pearl warm the room. Solid panel double doors close to allow for more focus and noise reduction during busy workdays.
We love a large 60” x 30” standing Uplift Desk with a lovely walnut laminate top. But the room needed a beautiful focal point, other than the four windows that allow the morning sun to pour in!
Working with Waypoint Living home to create a built-in bookcase wall complete with drawers and stacked cabinets along the ceiling is an honor. The Painted Mist finish is stunning. It is airy and welcoming. Fresh, yet classic. It evokes the feeling we aimed for in this home; we wanted it to feel older, yet it is brand new!
We were so excited when we stumbled upon the Cynthia Vintage Desk from World Market. It’s also a walnut finish that complements the rest of the room beautifully. We couldn’t help adding the LEGO Typewriter, a centerpiece for now.
Zoom calls have become more fun lately. I’m hearing rave reviews of the background in the built-in bookcases that hugs the wall behind me. Guests entering our home immediately get to admire the cabinetry. And we have a place to store our collection of books, which has been excellent as we are into reading more and more this year!
We look forward to sharing this space with our future children as well. And who knows? We might both be sharing this space?!
