Five areas to focus on
  1. Windows and Window Treatments
Windows are one of the most noticeable areas of the home, and they can quickly become covered in dirt and grime. To clean your windows effectively, start by removing any dust or debris with a soft brush or cloth. Then, mix a solution of equal parts water and vinegar and use a squeegee to remove any streaks. Finally, clean your window treatments by vacuuming or wiping them down with a damp cloth.
  2. Baseboards and Crown Molding
Baseboards and crown molding are often overlooked during regular cleaning, but they can collect dust and dirt over time. To clean these areas, start by using a soft-bristled brush or vacuum attachment to remove any loose dirt or debris. Then, use a damp cloth to wipe down the baseboards and crown molding, paying extra attention to any hard-to-reach areas.
  3. Kitchen Cabinets and Drawers
Kitchen cabinets and drawers are often used every day, which means they can quickly become dirty and disorganized. To clean your kitchen cabinets and drawers, start by emptying them and wiping down the interior with a damp cloth. Then, use a mixture of warm water and mild soap to clean the exterior of the cabinets and drawers. Finally, organize your items and return them to their proper place.
  4. Mattresses and Pillows
Mattresses and pillows are essential for a good night’s sleep, but they can also collect dust, sweat, and other allergens over time. To clean your mattress, start by vacuuming it thoroughly to remove any dust or debris. Then, use a mixture of baking soda and water to spot clean any stains. Finally, allow the mattress to air out for several hours before making the bed. To clean your pillows, simply toss them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle, and then dry them on low heat.
  5. Bathroom Tiles and Grout
Bathroom tiles and grout can become discolored and stained over time due to moisture and daily use. To clean your bathroom tiles and grout, start by using a mixture of warm water and vinegar to remove any soap scum or grime. Then, use a grout brush or toothbrush to scrub the grout lines. Finally, rinse the tiles and grout with warm water and dry them with a clean towel.
