On the road

There are degrees of relaxation and anticipation that come with spending hours in the car together. Time slows down. We appreciate being on the move at 65 mph (105 km/h), where we can observe the land and countryside of America around us.

Edward always curates an incredible playlist. David drives (more on this at a later time). We pack an ample supply of snacks, including but not limited to Twizzlers, KIND bars, and Keebler Toast & Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers. Primarily we hydrate with water from our Yeti cups. But we both insist on the mandatory stop at Dunkin for Iced Oatmilk Lattes and Strawberry Frosted Donuts (or Starbucks for Nitro Cold Brews and a warmed-up blueberry scone).

We talk—we argue and debate. Then it goes silent. But we reconcile. And, of course, the ride has moments in between that feel so intense with all the trucks on the road or daunting arrays of headlights at night.

Yes, it would be fantastic if more of our supply chain and citizens could use a modernized rail system to get around. We can and will continue to advocate for more efficient means of transportation.

We love adventure; sometimes, we need to get out and drive. Drive for hours. It’s about the journey, and we are here for this. And then, we end up in a destination that unfolds into experiencing a new place, and we learn more about the world and ourselves.
