The family room is a space in our home that is the perfect blend of cozy and spacious. The room features 13′ coffered-style ceilings, which add an architectural detail that is both striking and timeless. The coffered design creates a feeling of depth and grandeur. Additionally, the ceilings add a touch of sophistication that elevates the entire space.
One of the most notable features of the family room is the transom windows that allow natural light to pour in. The windows are placed high on the wall, above the picture window. The windows also add to the overall elegance of the room, as they create a sense of openness and airiness that is refreshing and inviting.
We carried the wide-plank hard surface flooring into the family room, and are still looking for the perfect rug. We chose the Kichler Brahm fan with its beautiful natural brass finish and walnut blades as the central fixture overhead. Some of our furnishings from our previous home are coming together nicely in the space, and we love the color palette of warm earth tones as the south-facing room gets plenty of daylight.
Our personality comes through the mood boards. On both sides of our TV you will find some of our favorite LEGO Architecture models. Photographs of priceless moments together are also sprinkled on the bookshelves! Art from our adventures completes the decor for now.
