Overview

David learned the craft of woodworking from Grandpa during his teenage years.

To honor that legacy, David is teaching Edward, and last year we embarked on building modern side tables together.

We use folding saw horses in the workshop

You will need

  • 4′ x 8′ plywood sheet cut to template
  • Walnut
  • Plate joiner
  • Wood biscuits
  • Miter saw
  • Paint
  • Linseed oil

Instructions

  1. Use a plate joiner and wood biscuits to attach the sides of the tables to the top and bottom pieces.
  2. Miter the walnut corners and dado joined the bottom of the tray.
  3. Finish the pieces with black Behr paint for the plywood table and linseed oil for the walnut tray.
Sanding ensures a smooth surface for finishing
