Our new build

There is no better time to put together the guest room than for the holidays! It was fun to partner with Wayfair for some fun finds to make this space in our new home feel more festive and welcoming!
One of the easiest things to do before guests arrive is to change out the bedding. We opted for a bright white (as snow) quilt and burgundy pillow shams to make the room merry yet classic and elegant! Be sure also to leave extra towels and blankets nearby.
With the bed neatly made, we put a tray out. Our guests can re-use this tray during their stay to group a book or magazine they may bring. But to greet them, we offer them a few holiday mugs and a plate of shortbread cookies. Once they unpack, we hope they’ll return to the kitchen and share a cup of cheer with us before turning in for the night!
Lately, we’ve become big fans of storing our luggage on a rack when traveling. So we’re passing along this newfound tradition to our guests with our very own folding wood luggage rack. The espresso finish elevates the experience and doesn’t stand out! This will help our guests not wonder where to put their suitcases as they get cozy in the space.
We wanted to add visual height to the room without overly complicating the artwork above the bed. The round metal wall mirror provides exactly the décor we were aiming for and complements the black in the bed frame and the lamps. You can even add a little fun touch to the mirror by taping on some festive wrapping paper!
We hope you have a holiday season filled with light. Take some time over the next few weeks to breathe deeply and rest as you prepare to host or be hosted. May your heart be warm, and let there be peace on earth. Where are you celebrating this year?
