Our new build

What do you get when you add a mirror ball, warm drinks, and a fireplace? The perfect après ski, of course! Decorate with us for a leisurely afternoon of entertaining, and maybe you’ll dance or enjoy taking a seat and watching others show their moves! We couldn’t be more excited to reveal the outdoor living area in our new home. Dreaming up a cozy and festive space with Wayfair to relax and enjoy as we unpack, work, and get ready to host is exciting.
For our styling, we started with a small tree and teak conversation set that we already had (here is one similar to ours). The stone fireplace was planned with our new build.
Our outdoor living area faces south, so we get plenty of natural light in the winter mornings and afternoons. This is also helpful in planning afternoon and early evening gatherings and is perfectly bright as we await Christmas Day!
Roll out a new winter-inspired patterned rug. Hang a wreath and some garland. Place a few candles. Pour some warm drinks into glass mugs. Prepare to dance the day away with the glimmer and magic of the light from the mirror ball.
Don’t fuss over how you decorate the mantle. Start by hanging a wreath centered with the fireplace. Since we are just moving in, we used a C-clamp as a hook on our stone! There are options such as brick hangers that would work perfect for us next time! Next, add in some fun candlesticks and have fun placing them where you think they look best. Let your garland rest on the front edge, and if you like, let it hang over the one side for a modern twist. Lastly, place a whimsical accent (here is a deer similar to ours) to showcase the season!
While the warmth of the fire is most felt sitting nearby, we chose a prominent buffalo plaid outdoor rug to cover the concrete patio floor. This is perfect for guests to move around, mingle and rock to the holiday hits! And why wouldn’t we? After all, the mirror ball truly enables the vibe and encourages it! It serves as a perfect centerpiece on the coffee table along with this geometric table runner.
Whether indoors or outdoors during the holidays, we hope these fireplace styling tips help get you in the mood to sparkle and share time with others. Let the festivities begin!
